Today, my TOMS finally came....again! After getting them and my fat foot not being able to fit in them, sending them back, ordering a new pair, watching the UPS guy go up and down my road for a week and a half, they finally came and fit wonderfully! They gave me a small blister after wearing them to run errands and to common meal tonight but I probably just have to break them in like my Sperry's. No biggie. I'm still really excited about them. They were a superb Valentine's Day present <3 Thanks, Mom!
After getting my TOMS my day stayed on the right track. I didn't have to stay at home with Allie all day and when I was home with her, we played outside because of the BEAUTIFUL weather we had today here in T-town. I ran some errands consisting of going to Deja Vu, a pretty nice consignment shop on 15th, TJ Maxx, and Publix.
At Deja Vu I was taking some baby clothes of Allie's to be consigned along with some polos that Daren, Nisha's hubby, doesn't wear anymore.. The lady that checked me in was nice but, she just seemed so snooty that it was enough to make me feel very uncomfortable. But after she took what they were going to take, I did a little looking around for myself and found a shirt that I liked that was only $4 and get this, a pair of Wallabees that looked like they've been owned maybe a month, for $30! Now, with my budget, $30 is still a pretty big amount to spend in one place haha, but I've been wanting a pair since I haven't had my old ones for a long while, and to buy them new they are almost $100. I was pretty pleased with my find and after getting paid for the first time at my St. Marks job, I thought it was a good splurge.
TJ Maxx was a bust, but then again.. after I "splurged" on my Wallabees I didn't really look too hard. I found a purse that I liked, but I have so many bags it would have been more than a waste.
Last but not least, Publix was just publix. Although I did learn something new/freaking awesome while I was there.. An older lady was in front of me walking to get a cart and before she got her cart, on the side of where you get the carts there are little disinfectant wipes to wipe down the handle of your cart before you use it! I was like, "Wow, that is so cool!" and she got one for me and proceeded to tell me that they are one of the first supermarkets that started doing it and she hopes that it will set a trend because it really does help with all the "ickies" going around all the time. She said "ickies" :) Definitely a sweet ol' grandma haha.
After all that errands business, I went to common meal, watched The Office (Pam and Jim had their baby!!!!) then Project Runway in the TV room at Wesley with some fun kids, then went to Elina's to pick out some stuff for her to wear this weekend. All in all, it was a great Thursday to lead into a great Friday! Now I'm off to sleep, with some sweet serenades going down by my favorite Billy Joel :) G'night!
P.S. I applied at UA today and even though I'm excited about it.. I'm really trying not to think about it/talk about it lots because I honestly don't think it's likely for me to get in this Fall and I'm trying not to get my hopes up crazy high, even though the admissions counselor thinks differently. I guess we'll just have to see. Say a prayer or two for me about it!
