I've been sititng here for the past 30 minutes on this then on facebook trying to decide what to write about in my first post ever. I really think I might be making a bigger deal about this than I should be. So, instead of wasting more time than I already have trying to think of something clever to write about or the name of my post, I'm just gonna tell y'all what I did today and do what I intend to do with my upcoming blogs and keep you updated on what my life consists of and things I find interesting.
Today was a glorious day in the life of me, because I got to sleep in! I am currently a live-in nanny to some old family friends of mine and I watch their 9 month old baby girl Allie Rae. I usually have to get up with her around 8ish to play or give her a bottle, but today she had a doctors appointment and I got to sleep till 10:30. That right there, let me tell you.. was amazing! I woke up, ate some breakfast, and waited for Allie and her mom, Nisha, to get back from her appointment. It was just a check-up but the doctor said that her iron was low and she needs to eat more real food instead of bottles. So, we'll be working on that.
Nisha and her oldest kid, Andrew, went to read to her middle child (don't worry there are only 3 of them), Mary Ashley's class. Now Allie Rae and I are hanging out watching Wall-e. It's really more like I'm sitting here watching it and doing this while she plays on the floor in front of me. She gets so into her toys sometimes that there isn't much playing with her that I can do besides make sure she doesn't put anything in her mouth that's gonna hurt or choke her.
Other than my Warbington (that's the family I live with) life, I don't do a lot other than hang out with Wesley/old Huntsville friends, and work at St. Mark's in the daycare on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights. It's a pretty chill life and I'm enjoying it quite thoroughly. I think I'll be enjoying it a lot more when I'm back in school. Although, I am liking my time off pretty well. Speaking of school, hooray for Lauren and Alicia (and Ally, even if I don't know her as well!) finishing and passing their last HESI! It makes me quite sad that Alicia is in Huntsville doing her preceptorship, but I know she's going to do great and that's where she wants to be. So, yay her! Lauren is doing her preceptorship here at DCH and I thought that it wasn't going to be that bad because I mean, she still lives here.. but her hours are killer and then last night I was hanging out at the dhouse and I asked Justin where she was and he said, very sad faced, "at the hospital." :( I made a joke saying, "Oh man what happened?!" But, go figure.. nobody else thought it was funny haha. Anyways, point is.. they're all grown up and one step closer to their dream job. Yes, I'm very happy and proud but I miss them already! Makes me anxious to get going at Alabama and get my freaking degree. Yay only a million more years, right?
Hate to end it on such a pessimistic note, so let me say this: HAPPY HUMP DAY :) and hope everyone has a great day/night!
